I am an assistant professor at the University of Maryland. My work is described on my university website.

Running

I'm a distance runner. My favorite distance is the half marathon (13.1 miles), but I have recently revived my love for the full marathon (26.2 miles). Pictures and info about all of my races are online here.

House

When I'm not working or running, I'm doing stuff to my house. I blog about it every day, and have some general info online, too.

Other things I do

Designs - I design t-shirts and things and sell them at CafePress. It is great fun.

Feminism for Kids - here's the start of a list of feminist friendly children's books. Try to convert that Barbie-girl from the dark side.

Golden Retriever Rescue - I volunteer with our local rescue group, GRREAT.

I read a lot of fiction (in addition to all of the technical reading). Here's my current reading list.

I'm a vegetarian, and a member of the ASPCA.
